Tabriz Faculty of Paramedical Sciences is one of the oldest faculties of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, which was established in 1986 by transferring the fields of "Laboratory Sciences" and "Radiology" from the Faculty of Medicine, and also transferring the field of "Psychiatry" from the Faculty of Nursing. Then, gradually, the fields of "Medical Documentation" and "Medical Library and Information" were added to the fields of this faculty (the latter two fields are currently taught in the Faculty of Medical Management and Information). The first dean of the faculty was Dr. Rasoul Hossein Nia. Then, Dr. Mohammad Nouri, Dr. Mohammad Rahbani, Dr. Mohammad Reza Afhami, Dr. Abdolnaser Rafi, Dr. Behrouz Nik Nafs, Dr. Esmaeil Fallah, Dr. Seyed Mostafa Ghavami, and Dr. Seyed Reza Moadeb have been responsible for the faculty. Currently, Dr. Mohammad Ahangarzadeh Rezaei is serving as the Dean of the Faculty.
This faculty currently has educational departments in laboratory sciences, radiology, anesthesiology, basic sciences, and Islamic studies.
